Mary Mundane?

This morning as I wrestle, non too successfully, a king fitted sheet into submission for the storage bin (please do not send me videos of how to do it, because I’ve seen them all and it just doesn’t stick) it occurs to me that women of note have all done ‘the mundane’. Particularly, Mary, the mother of Jesus comes to mind, maybe because of the alliteration. Let’s face it… it’s soothing to enjoy the poetry of those letters. Still, it’s difficult to imagine the life of a young girl in those long ago days. Pretty sure luxury was not a part of her daily routine. She would be amazed to see this lovely white sheet I am ‘folding’. She probably schlepped water, swept floors, and changed her baby’s nappy, as all the other young mothers did. She did the mundane, even while caring for the Savior of the world.

Feeling a little lost in the minutia? Just step right through the mundane because it is part of the journey.

Schlep on. Change on. Fold on. The plan is BIG. Your life is BIG!

He who is faithful in a very little thing is also faithful in much… Luke 16:10
